This Reference Material can be used to qualify the wavelength calibration, in the far ultraviolet region of the spectrum, of spectrophotometers with spectral bandwidths of 5 nm or less. It is accepted for this purpose by Pharmacopoeias and Standardisation Bodies, including:

European Pharmacopoeia
Deutsches Arzneibuch (German Pharmacopoeia)
United States Pharmacopoeia
American Society for Testing and Materials
Therapeutic Goods Administration (Australia)
British Pharmacopoeia

Rare earth oxide in sulfuric acid, permanently sealed by heat fusion into a 10 mm far UV quartz cuvette. This solution gives a spectral scan containing 5 characteristic peaks covering the wavelength range from 200 nm to 270 nm.

Samarium-Oxide-

rare-earth

Approximate peak wavelength values (in nm) are:
201, 211, 223, 240, 254

A Certificate of Calibration and Traceability and full instructions for use are provided with each Reference Material. Starna Scientific is accredited to both ISO 17034 (4001) as a Reference Material producer, and ISO/IEC 17025 (0659) as a Calibration Laboratory for optical reference measurements. Starna offers a Lifetime Guarantee on all its Reference Materials.
