We keep our privacy notice under regular review to make sure it is up to date and accurate.

Access data/server log files

Starna its service provider, google analytics and various other software providers, collect data on access to our Website’s (log files / analytic data). Such collection may include:
the title of alias of the web page visited, the file, date and time of visit, the volume of data transmitted, notification of successful access, browser type and version, the user’s operating system, the referrer URL (previously visited page), IP address and the requesting provider.
Starna only uses the data for statistical evaluation that serves security purposes and for operating and optimizing the Website. However, Starna reserves the right to check the data at any point in time if, reasonable suspicion of, illegal usage exists.

Handling of personal data

Personal data are pieces of information that help to identify a person, i.e. information that can be traced back to someone. They include a person’s name, email address and telephone number, as well as preferences, hobbies, memberships and web pages visited.
Starna only collects, uses and passes on personal data if permitted by law or if users have consented to the collection of data.

Contact

When users make contact with Starna (e.g. via a contact form or by email), their information will be stored for the purpose of processing the query or dealing with follow-up questions.

Integration of third-party services and content

Third-party content such as YouTube videos,  Google Maps content, RDD feeds and graphics from other web pages may be displayed on this Website. This is only possible if content providers (hereinafter referred to as “Third-Party Providers”) register users’ IP addresses; without these IP addresses, content cannot be sent to the browser of the user in question. IP addresses are therefore required in order for such content to be displayed. We endeavour to only use the content of providers who use IP addresses for the sole purpose of sending content. However, we have no influence on Third Party Providers saving IP addresses for statistical purposes etc. We will inform users on such matters if they become known to us.

Cookies

Cookies are small files which store specific information related to the device on the user’s device (e.g. PC or smartphone). In addition to making web pages user friendly (e.g. by saving login details), they allow statistical information about web page use to be collected and analysed in order to improve the Website. Registration

Data submitted upon registration are used for the purposes of accessing our Website’s. Users may receive information specific to the Website or product registration(as for Reference Materials) , including information about changes to the Website or technical circumstances. During registration, collected data are visible in the input mask.

Google Analytics

Starna uses Google Analytics, a web page analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files stored on the user’s computer that make it possible to analyse how the website is being used. The information generated by cookies concerning website use is usually transferred to and stored on a Google server in the USA.

However, by activating IP anonymization on this web page, user IP addresses will be shortened by Google before this happens, provided you are in a European Union member state or another state that has entered into the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Full IP addresses will only be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there in exceptional cases. IP anonymization is used on this Website. On behalf of the Website operator, Google will use the information it gathers to evaluate website use, compile reports on website activities and provide other services to the Website operator relating to website activity and internet usage.

The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of the Google Analytics process will not be merged with other Google data. Users can prevent cookies from being stored by selecting the appropriate settings on their browser. However, this Website warns users that by doing so, they may not be able to use all the Website’s functions. Google AdSense

This Website uses Google AdSense, a service for displaying Google Inc. (“Google”) advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies, which are text files that are stored on the user’s computer that make it possible to analyse how the website is being used. Google AdSense also uses web beacons (invisible graphics), which allow information, such as web traffic to the pages of this Website, to be evaluated.

The information generated by cookies and web beacons concerning website use (including the user’s IP address) and the delivery of advertising formats will be transferred to and stored on a Google server in the USA. Google may pass on this information to its contracting parties. However, Google will not merge your IP address with any other of your saved data.

Users may prevent cookies from being installed by selecting the appropriate settings on their browser. However, the Supplier warns users that by doing so, they may not be able to use all of this Website’s functions. By using this Website, users consent to Google processing any data collected about them in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

Withdrawal, modifications, corrections and updates

Users have the right to request information about any personal data collected about them free of charge. Users are also entitled to have their personal data deleted, or to have incorrect data corrected or blocked, where there is no legal basis to preserve that data.
