Full Quartz Construction High-Purity Threaded Flow Cells

Purpose

Purpose

These totally quartz construction flow cells are designed for Tablet Dissolution applications and, at the same time, facilitate aggressive cleaning or autoclaving if necessary to avoid cross-contamination between different types of samples.

The design of the flow cell, with an integral threaded quartz top, allows complete immersion in solvent or strong acid cleaning solutions.

Engineered specifically for pharmaceutical dissolution testing and high-performance UV-Vis spectrophotometry, these premium total quartz flow cells are designed for environments where cleanliness, reproducibility, and traceability are non-negotiable.

Description and Discussion

Description and Discussion

Constructed entirely from quartz and engineered for the demands of stringent pharmaceutical protocols
The Starna Threaded Quartz Flow Cells are manufactured from high-purity synthetic quartz, including the quartz threaded tops. The cells are assembled from precision parts that are fully fused together to form a monolithic structure with exceptional chemical resistance, thermal stability, and long-term durability, even under repeated sterilisation or autoclaving.

Why It Matters:
In high-throughput, highly regulated pharmaceutical environments, Starna’s fully quartz construction supports contamination-free workflows, withstands aggressive solvents and elevated temperatures, and maintains optical clarity where it matters most.

A New Benchmark in Flowcell Precision:
Each cell with path lengths of 2 mm or less is engineered to sub-micron path-length accuracy, verified within ±0.2 µm using interference spectrometry. That level of precision ensures consistent absorbance readings, which are essential for dissolution testing, real-time monitoring, and IVIVC studies. Path lengths of 5 mm or more are accurate to the micron level, according to the published specifications.

Traceability and Compliance:
Every threaded quartz flow cell is pressure-tested to 5 bar, laser-engraved with a unique serial number, and manufactured to meet USP, Ph. Eur., and JP standards. This level of traceability supports regulatory compliance and eliminates uncertainty in customer data.

Designed for Integration—Ready for Automation:
Compatible with USP Apparatus 4 and leading automated dissolution systems, the Starna threaded flow cells are compatible with all tablet flow-cell apparatus, supporting seamless integration across instruments, software, and validation protocols.
