Cell Certification
Certificate of Conformity and/or Path Length

We occasionally requests for a 'Certificate of Conformity' for a particular cell or cell type.

This raises the question should this be  'Batch' or 'Individual'? The requirements for both types depend on the cell type, market sector, etc. As often the parameter of interest is the path length of the cell, we have adopted the following conventions in order to clarify the situation:

1. Certificate of Conformity
This certifies that the cell or cells conform to the published specification. No individual cell measurements are provided. Each invoice would require a separate Certificate of Conformity.

2. Certificate of Cell Path Length
This certifies the actual measured path length of a specific cell and this requirement must be included at the time of order. Path lengths of 0.5 mm or less are measured using an interference method. Path lengths of >0.5 mm or more can only be measured physically during the manufacturing process, and cannot be measured retrospectively on a finished cell.
The cell will assigned a unique serial number, and after being identified as such, additional measurements will be performed (over and above normal Q.C.) measurements.
These measurement will then be reported on the certificate, with the calculated (or measured) path length for that individual cell.
As stated in the catalogue on page 2 - This Certificate of Path length will attract an additional charge for the cell over and above the listed price.

IN BOTH CASES, EITHER CERTIFICATE MUST BE REQUESTED AT THE TIME OF ORDERING.
